The Brief
You and a stranger are splitting $100. You make an offer first — how much of the $100 goes to each of you. If they reject it, the total shrinks to by 10% (to $90) and they make a counter-offer. If you reject that, it shrinks by another 10% (to $81) and you offer again.
Every rejection costs both of you 10% of whatever remains.Neither of you will accept less than what you could expect to get by rejecting and waiting for your turn to propose.
What is your opening offer to the stranger, in dollars? Round to the nearest cent.
